ECO-design.ca has a professional staff experienced in all aspects of the built environment. The ECO-design.ca mission is

"the collaborative design of a healthier, safer, sustainable environment."

The principal and staff of ECO-design.ca have each spent more than half of their lives in design and construction. Out of that experience comes a belief that the success of the built environment rests on two pillars:

"...collaborative design..." or co-design is our approach to our work. We are a collaborative of skilled professionals united by our commitment to a healthier, safer environment through design. We collaborate with our clients and end users to a common purpose,

"...a healthier, safer, sustainable environment..." is not simply a motherhood statement about our desired end state. The twin themes of health and safety for occupants, users and the general public frame increasing portions of our environment. We believe that now and in the future, Designers and Builders must be able to demonstrate how their work contributes to health and safety improvements in our global environment.

What we do We do all of the things in the blue banner above. Our basic services are integrated and comprehensive. On some projects we provide full services, on others our involvement is specialized. Our services include: ARCHITECTURE + BUILDING ECOLOGY planning & urban design facility programming prior to the start of building design traditional full service design for a wide variety of facility types construction phase services for all types of construction method: stipulated sum, negotiated contract, cost plus, project management, construction management BUILDING SCIENCE building envelope consulting for new and existing buildings remediation of leaky condo's, leaky co-ops and other leaky buildings building science research for organizations such as CMHC and BERC CODE CONSULTING Certified Professional (CP) services building code consulting on a variety of technical issues LEED™ SERVICES evaluation of projects for their potential to be LEED™ certified management of the LEED™ accreditation process development of "green" building specifications and details OTHER SERVICES Design counselling - consulting on discrete, preliminary projects of a wide size and variety Education - developing and delivering continuing education courses Interior design for the facilities we design as well as for others Planning for rezonings, official development plans and urban design Back to top

How we do it Much of what we do is determined by the Acts and By-laws governing our professions. Within those constraints, which are designed to protect the interests of the public and our clients, our approach to practice includes these components: Quality-Works.net® - we are committed to delivering services whose quality can be independently assessed on a regular basis. We have redesigned the processes we use to deliver our services consistent with the ISO 9001 quality system.
